Wilson’s World: National Safe Place Week & “Robert’s Walk” at The Relatives
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Wilson heads off to The Relatives’ Youth Crisis Center to talk about National Safe Place Week and preview “Robert’s Walk”!
Safe Place provides access to immediate help and supportive resources for youth in need. As a community initiative, the program designates schools, fire stations, libraries, and other youth-friendly organizations as Safe Place locations, which display the yellow and black sign.
Safe Place locations extend the doors of the local youth service agency or shelter to support teens in crisis situations, creating a safety net for youth.
The “Robert’s Walk” event will be held on March 24th and feature a walk from Freedom Park, up through East Boulevard, to the Youth Crisis Center in honor of those who have “taken the journey from crisis to safety, stability, and successful futures.”
