Wilson’s World: Talking Water Safety Month at the Morrison YMCA

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – May is National Water Safety Month so Wilson was at the Morrison Family YMCA to find out how the Y is getting out the word about water safety.

Not only did they discuss the importance of teaching kids in Charlotte basic water safety. The YMCA’s program will visit different apartment complexes this summer where free of charge, kids can come out to the pool to learn water safety and the basics on how to swim to save their life.  Area YMCA locations are also taking donations of gently used bathing suits, sun screen and swim products that are needed for these same kids.

Charlotte area YMCA’s are currently looking to hire life guards at their locations.  If you or someone you know would be interested in working at the Y this summer, check out the YMCA’s website at ymcacharlotte.org.
