Wilson’s World: Celebrating Memorial Day at Carolinas Aviation Museum
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Memorial Day Weekend is coming up and the Carolinas Aviation Museum is celebrating with speakers who are former pilots and survivors from the Miracle on the Hudson. Wilson was at the Museum to find out more about the celebrations this weekend.
Dan Vinton, a 1549 Miracle on the Hudson survivor will be speaking at the museum on Monday and Bill Wilkerson, a retired Piedmont Airlines pilot will be speaking on Saturday. Both of them talked with Wilson about their individual exciting experiences. Museum volunteers Bob and Cliff who are both military vets discussed the importance of the museum and teaching the kids about the history of aviation.
Wilson got behind the controls of the flight simulator in the museum and managed to take out a couple of deer.
The Carolinas Aviation Museum is a hands on family learning experience and offers summer camps for kids. For more information on Carolinas Aviation Museum including ticket prices and exhibits connect with their website carolinasaviation.org.
