HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Rescue crews pulled more than 20 people from Lake Norman Wednesday evening after their sailboats capsized during a popup storm.

The incident happened near Blythe Landing shortly after 6pm. Officials say roughly five or six boats from a sailing school/club capsized after getting caught in the storm.

Huntersville Fire says all 26 members have been accounted for and no one was injured. The sailors were all reportedly wearing PFDs when they were pulled from the water.

Crews are still working to recover the boats from the lake.
