Wilson’s World: Halloween Pet Safety at Stand for Animals Veterinary Clinic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Halloween is a lot of fun for kids and adults, but just may not be fun for your pets.  Wilson was at Stand For Animals Veterinary Clinic in NoDa this morning to get tips on how to make Halloween safe for his dog George Harrison and our pets as well.

Dr. Elizabeth Welch, Stand for Animals’ veterinarian, joined Wilson to talk about which costumes are the best if you want to dress up your pet for Halloween.  She also reminded us that candy is harmful to our pets, especially chocolate candy which is extremely toxic.  And if your pets are anxious when people come to your door or there are loud noises, she has great tips for keeping them calm and happy while the kids are trick-or-treating at you home.

Stand for Animals Veterinary Clinic will be holding their 2019 “So You Think You Can Bark” event.  The event will be a live show filled with ‘pet-testants’ doing all types of great tricks and performances.  The event will be on Friday, February 1st at Knight Theater at Levine Center for the Arts. Pet-testant fundraising and all ticket proceeds to benefit Stand for Animals’ Medical Support Fund which will directly assist a dog or cat in need of medical care and free spay neuter services. To check out the pet-testants and  get information on ticket prices go to the “So You Think You Can Bark” link HERE.  Wilson will be at the event along with his four legged sidekick, George.
