Wilson’s World: Unveiling the Panthers’ New Play 60 KidZone at Freedom Park
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson was at Freedom Park this morning with an excited group of kids from Charlotte Lab School and the Carolina Panthers‘ Sir Purr as they enjoyed the newest Play 60 experience – a state of the art KidZone – for the kids in Charlotte.
Riley Fields with the Panthers joined Wilson to explain the NFL Play 60 mission and how the Carolina Panthers are bringing the experience to the kids as part of their community Youth Development Progam. Play 60 is a national youth health and fitness campaign focused on increasing the wellness of young fans by encouraging them to be active for at least 60 minutes a day.
The new Play 60 KidZone in Freedom Park is a one-of-a-kind play space for kids and families. Constructed on synthetic grass, it features an obstacle course, 40-yard dash with automated timing, climbing structure, photo booth, pep talk station with messages from Panthers players and other great elements designed to get kids moving.
The Charlotte Lab School is a tuition free public charter school for kids K-7. Their mission is to use the community as their classroom to provide a personalized, engaging and authentic learning experience to prepare students for success and wellness in college and a global workplace. Charlotte Lab School admits students through an open lottery system. Find out more about Charlotte Lab School at charlottelabschool.org.
The Panthers Play 60 Youth Development experience is of course more than just the KidZone. Play 60 includes youth camps, nutritional activity programs, challenges with the Heart Association, game day kids combines, visits to schools and even an app. Find out more information on the Carolina Panthers Play 60 Youth Program on the Panthers website at panthers.com/community/youthdevelopment.
