Wilson’s World: Enjoying Funnel Cake and Holiday Lights at the 2018 Speedway Christmas

CONCORD, N.C. –  If you haven’t made it by the Charlotte Motor Speedway to check out the Speedway Christmas lights, you still have a few days to get the visit in.  Wilson stopped in this morning to take a look at what is new at the holiday light extravaganza this year…and get some kids really hopped up on sugar.

Visitors enjoy the beauty of over 3.5 million lights on the  a 3.75 mile course that includes the oval, infield and most of the ROVAL™. Drivers tune their radio in to station 101.3 FM to enjoy the beautiful lights-to-music drive.

Be sure to make a stop in at the family friendly Christmas Village which includes a 50′ ferris wheel, the petting zoo, and Bethlehem village.  Enjoy family fun and games, have your picture taken with Santa and enjoy making s’mores over a fire pit.  The Christmas Village is open Thursday, December 20 – Monday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 26- Sunday, December 30.

And don’t forget that you can enjoy favorite holiday movies on the giant 16,000- square foot high definition TV. Dec. 20 – 24  enjoy “Frosty’s Winter Wonderland, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, The Grinch (1966)” and Dec. 26 – 30  “Home Alone.”

The Speedway Christmas will be open this week through Sunday (except for Christmas Day) until December 31st. Information including dates and hours of operation, the movie listings and ticket prices can be found on their website HERE.
