Huntersville Mother Charged In Death Of Her 4-Year-Old Son

Huntersville Police have charged Lashonda Hudson, 36, with the murder of her 4-year-old son in October of 2018.

Hudson is charged with Murder and Negligent Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury.

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Police are investigating the death of a 4-year-old boy in Huntersville as a possible homicide. According to Captain Kevin Johnston with the Huntersville Police Department, they were notified of the death on October 22nd by the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner’s Office.

“The preliminary investigation suggests that the death may be the result of a homicide,” said Capt. Johnston, ” we are working closely with the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Department of Social Services, as well as interviewing potential witnesses and actively pursuing leads in this investigation.”

Huntersville police wouldn’t release any more details about the case saying they didn’t want to “jeopardize the integrity” of the investigation.

“This is a tragic death of an innocent child,” said Johnston.
