N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper Gives Update On Flooding Following Weekend Storms
RALEIGH, N.C. – After declaring a State of Emergency Sunday, Governor Roy Cooper gives an update on the flood warnings and rescue efforts in the WCCB viewing area.
A flash flood watch is currently in effect through Monday evening for portions of The Piedmont and western North Carolina including the following areas; Alexander, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, and Mecklenburg. In western North Carolina, Avery, Buncombe, Burke Mountains, Caldwell Mountains, Eastern McDowell, Eastern Polk, Greater Burke, Greater Caldwell, Greater Rutherford, Henderson, McDowell Mountains, Mitchell, Polk Mountains, Rutherford Mountains, and Yancey.
