Megan Rapinoe: MLS In Charlotte Would Be ‘Pretty Dope’, Talks Social Change

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Fans crowded Romare Bearden Park on Saturday to get a glimpse of Megan Rapinoe.

The co-captain of the US Women’s National Team has been one of the countries most polarizing sports figures since claiming the gold in the Women’s World Cup. Rapinoe won the Golden Boot and Golden Ball during the World Cup.

She was in Charlotte to take part in House Of Soccer, a fan fest that led up to the International Champions Cup match between Arsenal and Fiorentina. Rapinoe held a skills clinic for the youth and also addressed the crowd several times.

With Charlotte’s hopes of landing an MLS team increasing Rapinoe said it would be ‘pretty dope’ for the city.
