Wilson’s World: Visiting the New Location of Foster Village Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Currently close to 600 kids are in the foster care system in the Charlotte region.  Foster Village Charlotte was created to help both the children in the foster care system and the families that have welcomed them into their homes.  Wilson was at Foster Village Charlotte this morning to find out more about this non-profit organization and tour their new location which is at 4919 Monroe Road in Charlotte.

The families that take in foster children usually do so with little notice and have to supply the children with basic needs as well as help them to feel safe and welcomed, while keeping up with all of the necessary appointments and paperwork that is required within those first days after a child’s placement.  Foster Village help not only the child, but the foster family deal with the emotional as well as the non-emotional needs.

Wilson talked with both volunteers with the organization as well as foster parents who will benefit from their help.  He also talked with businesses who worked with the organization to get the new location up and running and how important it was to help with getting the home ready.

Wilson also presented his latest ‘Wilson’s Moment of Good Award’ to Becky Santoro, Co-Founder of Foster Village Charlotte for her hard work with the facility.

Foster Village Charlotte will be holding an drop in this Saturday, October 26th from 10am until 4pm for current foster families.
