Frosty Friday Night Wanes into Wonderful Weekend

Lows tonight will hover just above freezing.

A strong cold front steamrolled through the Carolinas yesterday afternoon and evening, which not only brought severe weather but frigid temperatures behind it. Feels-like temperatures dropped 50+° degrees in a matter of hours last night in the mountains, as light snow fell across the area. Although the Piedmont did not see any flakes last night, the Charlotte area did manage to drop into the 30s. We’ll end up even colder this Friday night into Saturday morning, which could lead to some patchy frost across much of the viewing area. Be sure to bring your pets and plants indoors this evening. Sunny skies and refreshing highs are on tap for what should be a beautiful weekend ahead, as temperatures top out in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Saturday Night: Another chilly night. Low: 35°. Wind: N 5-10.
