Wilson’s World: At Fuel Pizza Supporting Registration for the 24 Hours of Booty 2020

The 2020 24 Hours of Booty hits the Booty Loop in Myers Park on July 24th.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  This year will mark the 19th annual 24 Hours of Booty and as he has done almost every year, Wilson is with the 24 Foundation to help support registration for this year’s ride. He was back at Fuel Pizza in South End with members of the foundation to give us information on what’s new with the event.  And, oh yeah, he hit the street giving out pizza to morning commuters…whether they wanted it or not.

Wilson talked with family members of cancer victims who have fought the disease as well as those who are survivors.  One of the people include the mother of little Claire Ratliff.  Claire’s battle with cancer inspired her family to form Claire’s Army, a non-profit to help support families battling childhood cancer.  More information on Claire’s Army can be found at clairesarmy.org.

Katy Ryan, Executive Director of the  24 Foundation, talked about the foundation’s mission to inspire and engage the community to make an  impact on the lives of those affected by cancer. Their purpose is more than funding research and going beyond finding a cure. They invest in services and organizations that untangle the maze of appointments, tests, and treatments after diagnosis, and funding programs to increase the quality of life for survivors decades into the future.

The 24 Foundation’s 24 Hours of Booty is a 24 hour charity bike ride and walk that all members of the family will enjoy. And new to the walk/ride event this year is the 24 hour walk that will be available.  So if you aren’t a bike rider you can still take part and walk the loop.  Event participants commit to walk or ride as much or as little as they would like during the 24 hours.

The 24 Foundation’s 24 Hours of Booty ride will take off with riders  and walkers hitting the 3 mile Booty Loop that runs through Myers Park neighborhood on Friday, July 24th at 7pm and finishing up on Saturday, July 25th at 7pm.
