App State Football Faces Backlash For Photo Posted On Social Media By Player

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Saturday afternoon App State defeated Charlotte 35-20. But following the game a celebratory social media post by Mountaineers tight end Mike Evans went a little too far. In the now deleted post, Evans posed with several other teammates holding Charlotte’s “Club Lit” sign. The players extended their middle finger and made a “T” with it. Charlotte wide receiver Cameron Dollar took a screenshot of the post and posted it to Twitter.

According to the Winston Salem Journal, App State head coach Shawn Clark reached out to Charlotte head coach Will Healy to apologize for the post.
