CFD: Grandmother, 9-Year-Old Child Die After Massive East Charlotte House Fire
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Firefighters are investigating a massive east Charlotte house fire after a woman and child died early Monday morning, the Charlotte Fire Department said.
The fire department responded to the Latchington Court home, off of Albemarle road, around 6 a.m. after reports of a fire. Upon arrival, they found a home with heavy fire showing from the rear of the home.
According to reports, there were eight people inside the when the home caught fire. Firefighters were able to pull two people from the home and perform CPR, but MEDIC pronounced both people dead at the scene.
The victims have been identified as 9-year-old Boe Reh and his 62-year-old grandmother Saw Mo, according to CFD.
The six other people from the house were evaluated by MEDIC and one was taken to the hospital, but they are expected to be OK.
