Subaru South Blvd Delivers Subaru Of America, Inc. Donation To Local Charity Friendship Trays As Part Of 2020 Subaru Share The Love® Event

CHARLOTTE, NC (News Release) — Subaru of America, Inc. (“SOA”) and Subaru South Blvd presented a check for $27,684 to Friendship Trays on June 3, 2021. Friendship Trays was a local beneficiary in the 2020 Subaru Share the Love Event.

From November 19, 2020, to January 4, 2021, with every new Subaru purchased or leased, Subaru donated $250 to each customer’s choice of charities*. For the fifth year in a row, there was no cap on the total donation from Subaru of America to its Share the Love charitable partners. “In a year where good news was harder to come by, our 2020 Subaru Share the Love Event represented a glimmer of hope for people looking to help their communities,” said Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Subaru of America, Inc.

“With our retailers, customers, national and local charity partners, Subaru of America has donated over $200 million to help those in need over the last thirteen years. This, along with bringing love into the lives of our friends and neighbors, is just one more reason why Subaru is more than a car company.”

For 2020, SOA selected the four national charities: ASPCA®, Make-A-Wish®, Meals on Wheels America, and National Park Foundation. Subaru retailers could also elect to add a local charity and Subaru South Blvd selected Friendship Trays as one of its hometown charities.

The check for $27,684 was presented to Friendship Trays by Bill Musgrave, Retailer Principal, Wanda Musgrave, and Whitney Marti, Community Liaison, all of Subaru South Blvd. Accepting the check on behalf of Friendship Trays, who
recently announced a merger with Loaves & Fishes were: Tina Postel, CEO, Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays; Lucy Bush Carter, Director Emerita, Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays, and Kelly Vass, Program Director, Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays.

“We began to use the funding immediately upon receiving it to provide daily, delivered meals for our clients that are unable to obtain meals for themselves due to age, disability, or illness and with limited financial resources would not be able to receive our services without a meal subsidy, stated Lucy Bush Carter. “Our program provides individuals in our community a diet-specific home-delivered meal regardless of their ability to pay. This year’s contribution from Subaru’s Share the Love Event will provide meals for a year for 15.4 people.” ($1800 provides meals for a year for one individual)

This is the fourth year that Subaru South Blvd selected Friendship Trays as one of its Hometown Charity partners. Over the four years, Friendship Trays has received over $101,000 from the Subaru Share the Love Event.
