Warming Up Into Weekend

Although temperatures are on the rise, rain chances remain at rock bottom over the next five days.

The Queen City just saw its coldest morning in over seven months, but temperatures are on the rise as we head into November’s first weekend. Sunshine and relatively calm winds will allow temperatures to rise into the 60s and 70s across the board on Saturday and Sunday. Even more warmth builds in as winds shift in a more southerly direction next week. Records may come into play by midweek as afternoon highs top out near 80Β°. Although temperatures are on the rise, rain chances remain at rock bottom over the next five days.

Drought conditions continue to get worse across the Carolinas, especially west of the Metro. Severe drought has extended its coverage over the western Piedmont and Foothills, namely in Cleveland and Burke Counties. Our next best chance of rain lies over a week away. Unfortunately, this increased stress on our trees is impacting foliage right before peak season in the Piedmont, which arrives over the next two weeks.
