Wind Advisory in effect Wednesday
Winds will be strong even outside of thunderstorms.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A strong system moving across the middle of country is heading to the Carolinas. Winds will increase Tuesday night and peak through the day on Wednesday. While there is a severe weather threat, winds will be strong even outside of thunderstorms.
There is a Wind Advisory in effect for the mountains from 6 PM Tuesday until noon Wednesday. Wind gusts up to 50 mph are possible.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for the piedmont, including Charlotte from 4 AM to 7 PM Wednesday. Wind gusts up to 50 mph are possible.
Due to the strong winds, downed trees and a few power outages are possible.
