A temperature roller coaster begins
Summer weather returns
If you’re from the Carolinas, you will know what we experienced the past week was what we call “fake fall.” As the name implies, it means we are back to summer weather for at least the next couple of days. Highs today will get close to the upper 80s in the Piedmont, and mid 70s in the High Country. We also need to watch for a few isolated afternoon showers. On top of the heat, the humidity will also rise back to uncomfortable levels.
The summer feels hang on through Saturday as temperatures reach the 90s for the first time since mid August! Rain chances are slim at best, but don’t rule out a few storms as our next cold front passes through Late Saturday. The good news is this ushers in the fall feels once again by early next week!
Meanwhile, we are also monitoring an area that is likely to develop in the tropics. This area to watch is well out in the Atlantic and currently poses no direct threat to the United States. With that said, plenty can change given how far away this system is. If it does form, Gabrielle is the next name on the list!
