Bright sunny skies with spring like temperatures

Warming up through the weekend

Happy Friday morning! We’re waking up to clearing skies, cool air, and a forecast that does not get much better for early May.

Today is shaping up to be the nicest day we’ve had all week. Expect sunshine from start to finish with afternoon temperatures climbing into the low 70s. Humidity stays comfortably low, winds remain light. Perfect! My only issue this morning is that we have the 30s and 40s so it is a bit cool. This is one of those classic Carolina spring days you just want to soak in.

As we head into the weekend, the weather stays fairly good overall, although we will start to introduce a few rain chances back into the forecast.

Saturday starts off with a small chance for a quick shower during the morning and early afternoon hours, but this is far from an all-day rain event. Many neighborhoods may not see rain at all. By later in the day, we’ll get back to a mix of sunshine and clouds with temperatures warming into the mid 70s.

Sunday brings a bigger jump in temperatures, with highs climbing into the lower 80s. It’s going to feel much more summer-like by the afternoon. Along with the added warmth and humidity, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop later in the day, especially after lunchtime and into the evening hours. It will not rain all day, but if you have outdoor plans Sunday afternoon with mom, just keep an eye on the sky.

Rain will continue into Monday making for a gloomy day, but sunshine quickly returns Tuesday.

Enjoy!
