Roy Cooper’s “Make Stuff Cost Less” campaign tour stops in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Former North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper is taking his Senate campaign straight to the kitchen table. The Democratic candidate stopped in west Charlotte on Friday, as part of his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour.

From rising health care costs to soaring utility bills and grocery prices, Cooper’s message focused on issues facing everyday Americans. He says voters are tired of hearing promises and want relief they can actually feel in their wallets. Cooper says, “I’m going to be an independent senator who’s going to put the people before power, the people before party, the people before politics, and I know that we can get things done if I keep the people as my focus.”

Friday’s visit comes as Cooper prepares for a high-profile showdown with Republican candidate Michael Whatley in one of the nation’s most closely watched Senate races.
