CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Health care confusion continued last night as the president addressed concerns about the Affordable Care Act, and people in Charlotte prepare for sticker shock. Some health insurance customers are finding their health care plans are dramatically changing under the Affordable Care Act.
Experts said Mecklenburg and surrounding counties will have some of the state’s highest health insurance premiums. That’s because the new law mandates standard coverage that includes some benefits older policies didn’t. The president said it’s a success, even if the online roll-out wasn’t. He also that the website problems will be fixed, and reminded Americans that the rollout is just three weeks into a six-month open enrollment period.The Obama administration said almost half a million people have filled out applications.
