UNDATED (AP) β Three NFL teams have dismissed their head coach. The Jets, Falcons and Bears are all looking for a new man to serve as coach while the Bears and Jets are also searching for a new general manager as well.
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) β The Buffalo Bills have announced that quarterback Kyle Orton has informed them that he plans on retiring. Orton took over the team when EJ Manuel was benched after a 2-2 start. Orton led the Bills to 7 wins in 12 games in his only season with the club.
UNDATED (AP) β Kentucky is still the unanimous choice as No. 1 in the men’s Associated Press basketball poll. The 13-0 Wildcats received all 65 first place votes to top Duke, Virginia, Wisconsin and Louisville. The lone newcomer to the poll is Georgetown at the No. 25 position.

In the opening contest the Mountaineers of West Virginia are playing Texas A&M in the Liberty Bowl, while this evening the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando has Clemson facing Oklahoma and the Texas Bowl in Houston features Arkansas going up against Texas.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) β The Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year is 13-year old pitcher Mo’ne (moh-NAY’) Davis. She was chosen over Mt. St. Joseph freshman Lauren Hill, who played her first college basketball game while battling terminal brain cancer, and three-time winner Serena Williams.
