NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) β Tony Award-winning actress Elizabeth Wilson, who built a career playing character roles in films such as “The Graduate” and “9 to 5,” has died. She was 94.
Wilson, who lived in Branford, Connecticut, with her sister, died Saturday at Yale-New Haven Hospital, according to actress Elizabeth Morton, who is serving as a spokeswoman for the family.
Wilson won a Tony Award for her performance in 1972’s “Sticks and Bones.”
She is perhaps best known for playing the mother of Dustin Hoffman’s character in “The Graduate” and the character Roz in the movie “9 to 5.”
She also acted in films including “The Birds,” ”Catch-22″ and “Regarding Henry,” and had numerous roles on stage and television.
