CHARLOTTE, N. C. – Wilson was back at Charlotte Motor Speedway today where he finds that a trip to CMS can not only be fun…but even a little romantic…even if you are a race fan.
Camper Joe Ridgewell has been traveling all the way from Ontario, Canada for 16 years to camp, party and of course enjoy the race with family and friends. And apparently. CMS is a great place to enjoy a honeymoon and wedding anniversaries. Like every year, Joe and his entourage will be at the speedway for two weeks.
Beginning today, there will be races and events going on all week leading up to Sunday’s Coca Cola 600.
Dirt Late Model racer, Joey Coulter and Legends Series driver Dillon Faggart each joined Wilson to talk about their races that will be run this week and weekend.
The Liftmaster Pole Night will be Thursday night. Not only will the drivers set the field for the 600, but there will also be a tribute to fire fighters before the race. Wilson talked with Sara Tongel with the Shelby Volunteer Fire Department about the Liftmaster Fire Truck parade.
And of course, we can’t forget the food at the speedway. Wilson tried out one of the newest items on their menu…candied bacon lollipops.
The the green flag for the Coca Cola 600 goes up on Sunday, May 25th with a pre-race concert by rockers ZZ Top. Speedway gates open at 12:30pm. For information on all of the events leading up to the Coca Cola 600 go to the Charlotte Motor Speedway website at charlottemotorspeedway.com.
