Local Sheriff Tells Parents To “Wake Up” After Bowling Alley Brawl
YORK CO., S.C. — The York County Sheriff’s Office is telling local parents to “wake up” after a brawl at a bowling alley near Rock Hill. The video, which the sheriff’s office shared on Facebook, shows a fight break out, and then deputies arrive, and try to break up the group of teens.
Chester, S.C. resident Josh Smith, who recorded and posted the video, says it happened at Strikers Family Sports Center on Saturday night around 10 P.M. He says some adults were also involved in the fighting. Smith says, “I bowled. I did my turn, and turned around, and heard screaming and saw chairs throwing and fists being thrown and people scattered and cops coming.” He continues, “As you can see there in the video, I was kinda like right there in the action, they were falling at my feet, and all you know? It was pretty intense, pretty wild.”
The York County Sheriff himself, Kevin Tolson, shared the video and wrote on Facebook, “Hey parents – where are you? This should not have happened. Do you know where your kid is? Do you know what they’re doing? This is not a police problem, it is a parent problem. Wake up and make them responsible so law enforcement does not have to!”
Our question of the night: do you agree with the Sheriff’s message?
