VIENNA (AP) β The Austrian ski federation and Anna Fenninger say they have solved their ongoing dispute, a month after the two-time overall World Cup champion quit a preseason training camp with the Austrian women’s team in Cyprus.
In a joint statement Thursday, they say “existing misunderstandings and communication problems have been disposed once and for all” during a meeting on Wednesday.
Fenninger and the national governing body had been quarreling for months about the skier’s personal manager and about her wish to have one of the team physicians working exclusively for her. Fenninger even threatened to leave the federation.
According to the statement, both parties have agreed to share the costs for additional physiotherapy staff and have ended a commercial conflict about the skier’s helmet sponsor.
