LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) β The IOC has retroactively disqualified a Ukrainian open water swimmer from the 2012 London Olympics after she tested positive for EPO in a retest of her doping samples.
The International Olympic Committee says Olga Beresnyeva has been excluded from the games after her samples came back positive in reanalysis for the blood-boosting drug.
She was stripped of her seventh-place finish in the 10-kilometer open water race.
The London samples were retested with improved scientific methods.
The IOC stores Olympic samples for a 10-year period so they can be retested when new methods become available.
