Troopers: 2 Injured After Plane Crashes In Alexander County

STONY POINT, N.C. — Two people were injured after a small plane crashed in Alexander County Saturday night, according to the NC State Highway Patrol.

Troopers say a single-engine Cessna 170 crashed near Smith Farm Road in Stony Point, N.C. at around 7:30 p.m.

The two injured were the sole occupants of the plane, according to a news release.

The Federal Aviation Administration will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
