CHARLOTTE, N.C. — This Mother’s Day, Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum is paying for fans to cover up the tattoos that their moms hate with the classic Sailor Jerry Mom Heart tattoo design.
“A mother’s love may be unconditional, but that still won’t stop her from side-eyeing that tattoo you got on your first spring break,” said Mary-Jade Hynes, Brand Manager for Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum. “Sailor Jerry’s heart designs are some of the most iconic art in American tattoo culture, and we couldn’t imagine a more fitting Mother’s Day gift than a cover-up with this classic flash. After all, she deserved the real estate in the first place.”
From May 2nd through May 6th, Sailor Jerry will activate a contest on Instagram where tattoo enthusiasts can enter to win a $200 voucher from Sailor Jerry for a tattoo cover-up in honor of mom.
To enter, participants must be at least 21-years-old and follow @sailorjerry on Instagram.
Participants must also post a photo on their Instagram feed or story of the tattoo they would like to cover up, tag @sailorjerry, and use the following hashtags: #SJSpicedRum and #Contest.
Officials say five winners will get a $200 tattoo cover-up voucher to the local artist of their choice.
