Iredell County Landlord Arrested For Stealing From Tenant

Iredell County, N.C. — An Iredell County Man has been arrested and charge with Breaking and Entering after items belonging to his tenant were discovered in his home.

Authorities arrested Britt McDonald Walden and charged him with Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering, and Misdemeanor Larceny.

Iredell county deputies say they responded to reports of a house Breaking and Entering on Tennessee Circle in Troutman, North Carolina, where several  electronics were stolen. The victim was in the hospital at the time of the break-in and the crime was reported by a family member.

There were no signs of forced entry at the time of the report and detectives subsequently began an investigation.  Witnesses say they saw Mr. Walden, who is the landlord of the property, at the home near the time the items were stolen.

Detectives located Mr. Walden at his home and recovered a computer, two tablets, and 19 pieces of mail that belonged to the victim. Mr. Walden also had pieces of the victim’s mail on his person at the time of his arrest.

Mr. Walden receive an $8,000 secured bond.
