CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Chiquita and Fyffes are pushing for support for their merger. In a letter to stockholders, the companies stressed the deal would achieve an additional $20 million in annual savings by 2016.
The merger has already received regulatory approval here in theΒ US. Now they’re waiting for permission from European authorities to move forward.
