WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. air strikes on ISIS were on hold Thursday night. President Obama says America doesn’t have a strategy to deal with the growing threat in the Middle East. He’s sending Secretary of State John Kerry to Iraq to help build a coalition to stand up to the militants. He suggests defeating ISIS will require an organized and regional response.
“As I’ve said, rooting out out a cancer like ISIL will not be quick or easy, but I’m confident that we can and we will, working closely with our allies and our partners,” said the President.
The President also addressed the growing tensions in Ukraine. Russian troops entered the country to aid pro-Russian separatists Thursday. The President says he’ll consider additional sanctions next month if Russia doesn’t back down.
