DENVER (AP) β Emmanuel Mudiay says he’s ready to step into the Denver Nuggets lineup and help lead the franchise to its first championship.
Mudiay, the seventh overall pick in Thursday’s draft, was in Denver on Friday to begin his NBA career. The Nuggets took the 6-foot-5 guard after he slipped past the first six teams. He was the second point guard taken after D’Angelo Russell went to the Los Angeles Lakers at No. 2.
The 19-year-old Mudiay looks forward to the challenge of playing against the best in the league after spending a season in the Chinese Basketball Association. He says that year of professional basketball got him ready for the competition in the NBA.
