CHARLOTTE, NC — A police chase through Charlotte ends with a robbery suspect in custody.
Police say they responded to a stolen car that was spotted on I-77 around 12:09pm Wednesday. The car is believed to have been stolen out of Charlotte. Officers were then notified that the suspect may have also been involved in an armed robbery in Matthews.
The suspect fled from police when they tried to pull him and was chased to the intersection of Reddman Road and Country Walk Drive. There officers say the suspect got out and took off on foot.
The suspect was captured a short time later following a brief search by officers on the ground as well as helicopter and K-9 units.
