UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Officials say a man assaulted a woman and killed her dog during a domestic dispute.
A Union County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the disturbance earlier this week and discovered a dog, deceased, in the victim’s bedroom.
According to the victim, 24-year-old Justin Richardson was upset because she was supposed to drive him to a bank and she was not moving fast enough. Richardson allegedly became upset, picked up the dog from the sofa, and threw it against a wall.
Richardson then allegedly began assaulting the victim with a plastic trash can. He now faces Felony Cruelty to Animals, Assault on a Female, and Communicating Threats.
