ALEXANDER COUNTY, NC — Deputies have charged 22-year-old Aishia Pacheco with the death of her 4-day-old infant.
Officials say a call came in around 6:12am Tuesday for an unresponsive 4-day-old. The infant was found inside a home in the Wittenburg Community and was given CPR. It was not successful.
The infant was pronounced dead and taken to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for an autopsy.
The infant’s mother, 22-year-old Aishia Pacheco, was charged with 2nd Degree Murder and placed under a $1,000,000 bond.
Pacheco’s first appearance is scheduled for June 6th.
