Update: Female Body Found In Salisbury Identified, Two In Custody

UPDATE:ย  The case has been determined to be a homicide and the victim has been identified as 33-year-old Amanda Kay Smith, of Salisbury.

Amanda Smith’s body was found partially burned and it was discovered that several fire crews had responded to a house fire at 245 Honeysuckle Lane, which was Ms. Smith’s residence.

Following an Investigation by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Department, Timothy Clarence Smith Jr. and Stephanie Dawn Hall were apprehended near Myrtle Beach.ย  Mr. Smith was not related to the victim.ย  They have both been charged with First Degree Murder, Second Degree Arson, And Robbery.

SALISBURY, NC– Police say a call led them to the body of a female that was lying on the side of the road.

The body was reportedly discovered by driver early Friday morning along Leonard Rd.

Investigators say the female was deceased and they are working with crime scene investigators but foul play suspected.
