CHARLOTTE, NC — Police say an east Charlotte man was arrested after he shot his girlfriend in the chest Sunday afternoon.
30-year-old Isiah Chaney was taken into custody after police say he shot his 26-year-old girlfriend in the chest at a home on Flintridge Drive just before 4pm Sunday.
The victim was taken to CMC-Main and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Her name has not yet been released.
Investigators say Chaney was still at the scene when police arrived and was arrested without incident. He has been charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serous Injury, Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, Assault with a minor present, Communicating threats, and assault by pointing a gun.
