MATTHEWS, N.C.-The Charlotte Independence welcomed in several soccer players including Rising’s Lawrence Gilligan for open tryouts before the 2024 season opener in March. Independence head coach Mike Jeffries and coaching staff eyes talent that can play to their speed on the field.

The Charlotte Independence are coming off a historic run to the USL One championship game in 2023, falling to North Carolina FC in penalties. The season and home opener is March 16, 2024.
