CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A homicide investigation is underway in west Charlotte after one person was killed on Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting happened in the 2500 block of Little Rock Road near Tuckaseegee Road.

MEDIC said that one person was transported with life-threatening injuries, but the case was later determined to be a homicide.

A witness tells WCCB’s Emma Mondo he saw a young man walk out of the barbershop and head to his car. At that moment, two vehicles pulled out from behind the strip mall, and opened fire. The witness tells me the man tried to run back to his car. The witness says the man collapsed outside of the barbershop.

Shortly after the shooting, CMPD was called to Tuckaseegee Road about 3 miles down the street. WCCB followed saw two people in the back of police cars when they arrived.

Major Ryan Butler was asked if the the two scenes are connected.

“We had several calls coming in in close succession. Some of the scenes were, were very dynamic, very actively unfolding,” said Major Butler. “So, there were multiple divisions involved and processing through a large amount of information that was uncovered simultaneously to see if there was a relationship between all of them.”
