UPDATE at 4pm: Governor McCrory gives an afternoon update on Hurricane Matthew and the new expected impacts it could have as it approaches the Carolina coasts.
McCrory says that the most recent models have changed drastically and now show the potential for flooding greater than that of Hurricane Floyd back in 1999. The Governor says these flood are life threatening situations.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Governor Pat McCrory gave an update on North Carolina’s preparations for Hurricane Matthew Friday morning.
McCrory warned residents to be ready for prolonged power outages and flooding. He also said some areas near the coast could see 65-70mph winds and storm surges anywhere from 1-5′.
