STATESVILLE, N.C. — A Matthews man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for distributing child pornography on the internet.
Dean Paul Stitz, 47, of Matthews was sentenced to 121 months in prison on Wednesday, by District Court Judge Robert J. Conrad.
Court Documents revealed, from May to July of 2014, Stitz was using peer-to-peer network to distribute child pornography on the internet.
Law enforcement, including the FBI, executed a search warrant at Stitz’s home an seized his laptop computer and an external hard drive. Analyses of the devices revealed over 600 images and videos of child pornography, some of which showed minors engaging in sadistic and masochistic conduct.
Stitz pleaded guilty to one count of Distribution of Child Pornography in April, 2016.
