SWAT Team Helps Take Armed Robbery Suspects Into Custody In South Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A SWAT situation has ended with the arrest of two armed robbery suspects in south Charlotte. A heavy police presence was reported on Arborgate Drive Wednesday morning.

CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) arrested two suspects wanted for an armed robbery that happened on El Verano Circle on March 11, 2024.

One suspect is a juvenile and the second suspect is an adult, according to CMPD.

CMPD says one suspect surrendered in the initial stages of the investigation, while the second suspect attempted to escape arrest by hiding in the crawlspace of a building.

CMPD’s SWAT Team arrived to assist and was able to locate the suspect in the crawlspace and take him into custody, according to a news release.
