Soggy Sunday Ahead

Sunny skies and warmer temperatures build back into the workweek.

Isolated severe storms brought damaging wind and significant hail to areas south of the Metro this Saturday afternoon, but most communities enjoyed a mostly sunny and comfy start to the weekend. While the severe threat is nonexistent for our Sunday, almost all of us will get in on scattered showers throughout the day. Temperatures will also struggle to climb out of the 40s and 50s across the board Sunday afternoon. Lows will dip into the 30s and 40s overnight into Monday. Patchy frost is likely in the High Country, but those in the Piedmont and Foothills will stay well above freezing.

Abundant sunshine returns to start the workweek, but highs will only get into the 50s and 60s Monday afternoon. Temperatures return to near-normal values in the 70s by midweek as winds re-align of out of the southwest. Next week won’t be perfectly sunny, but significant rain chances remain at bay for the five days following Sunday. Next weekend is trending cloudier with a few showers possible, but nevertheless warm with highs near 80° in the Metro.
