Two Brothers Charged For Shooting Into Occupied Homes

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two brothers are facing charges after shooting into a pair of occupied homes in west Charlotte on Tuesday afternoon.

Around 5 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Coronet Way in regards to shots fired. Police said the shots came near the Stewart Creek Greenway but the incident wasn’t involved with the greenway.

Nobody was injured but two homes and an unoccupied vehicle were struck by bullets. Two 26-year-old men, Ulysses Barnes and Urundi Barnes, were located near the incident and were arrested.

Both men were charged with the following:

  • Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling, 2 counts
  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon, 7 counts
  • Felony Conspiracy

Ulysses also received a charge for possessing a firearm by a felon. Urundi was charged with injury to personal property and shooting in city limits.
