Investigators say Patrick Glenn is considered armed and dangerous.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are searching for a man suspected of shooting a five-year-old Charlotte girl.

Investigators say Patrick Glenn is considered armed and dangerous.

They say the 27-year-old shot the girl when he fired his gun into a vehicle in Uptown.

“It’s a sign of what’s really going on,” said John Clifton. “That’s a shame that a five-year-old is with her family or whatever and this is happening.”

WCCB Charlotte showed residents the wanted photo as police searched for Glenn for the second night in a row.

“He really needs to be off the street,” said Clifton.

Police say Glenn pulled up to the car at 12th St. and College in Uptown Thursday night. Inside the car: three adults and two children. Investigators say one of the men recognized Glenn. Glenn shot. They say

The only one hit was the five-year-old.

The person who called 911 said, “I need police at 1501 N. Tryon. A little girl just got shot.”

The family drove to the N. Tryon gas station where they made that 911 call.

Residents there say they’re used to the crime, and many recognized Glenn.

“There’s drugs, alcohol, stealing,” said Clifton.

With the latest victim being so young, they’re holding meetings with churches, non-prots and police to fight back.

“It’s going to take the help of our city leaders listening,” said Clifton.
After undergoing surgery, the little girl is expected to survive.

“She should be at home, coming from school or enjoying the Veterans Day holiday and playing with her friends,” said Clifton. “You know? She just came off the table, hoping to save her life.”

Police say Glenn should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Patrick Glenn is asked to immediately contact the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team at 704-336-VCAT or call 911.
