Discussion:
Another hot and sunny day on tap with temps reaching the upper 80s this afternoon. Isolated rain/storm chance for the mountains, but most of us won’t be impacted by this. Things get a little more interesting beginning Thursday. A series of upper level disturbances will bring showers and stormsΒ back into the forecast. The first wave will likely impact the mountains and as far south as the I-85 stretch Thursday evening. As instability builds with the increase of moisture and warm temps, a few strong to severe storms will be possible Friday afternoon and evening. The biggest concern will be for damaging wind and hail. Out of the Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday is looking like the best opportunity to dodge afternoon storms, but a few scattered showers and storms will be possible. Coverage of storms will increase Sunday into Monday with heavy rain likely.
