ROCK HILL, S.C. — Rock Hill Police Department is investigating after two people were killed and two others were injured after a shooting at a neighborhood block party.

Investigators say it happened on Southland Drive just after 10 p.m. Saturday night. Rock Hill Police say officers were in the area at the time and heard several gunshots ring out.

A 44-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man died at the scene. A third victim, a 25-year-old woman, was treated at the scene by EMS. Officers add a 24-year-old man later arrived at a hospital with a minor gunshot graze.

Neighbors say they are considering bringing an end Southland Drive’s yearly Summer block party.

“If they want to have a party, go to a park, not where homes people live in,” one resident who did not want to be identified said. “I’m not against people having fun. People should have fun and enjoy life, but not that way. Not that way.”

Police say they are still investigating this shooting, and are not ready to release any details on a possible suspect. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Rock Hill Police.
