IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. – NC State Highway Patrol responded to an airplane crash on Midway Road near Hallmark Road, according to a news release.
The release states that the plane, a single-engine Cessna, took off from Lake Norman Airpark, but experienced a mechanical failure and was forced to make an emergency landing in a wheat field at around 11:15 a.m.
The pilot and passenger were not injured.
